I would however disagree with the statement " These are separate shows (one does not effect the other) " They don't effect each other in the sense that bounty hunters's wins or losses don't count towards the main thing, but they very much effect each other as it's clearly also recorded during the pandemic which means the extra matches would effect the bots/what resources they have. I'm glad to see the confirmed episode counts for both though as well for when the timing of more of the bounty episodes coming out. well it's basically just the final two brackets of a season where one bracket was decided in advance. Bounty Hunters is really 6 two hour episodes just poorly split into on hour episodes to make 12 episodes.Īs for how it is.

New robots in the competition include bots from Germany, South Korea, and Saipan. Due to the travel restrictions created due to the Coronavirus scare, teams from China, including Wan Hoo and Railgun MAX from last season, will not be competing.
Some bots will sadly not return this year, including: More airtime means more bots, as we'll see 85 teams this year, up from 69 (I think?) last year. This year will see 20 episodes at 2-and-a-1/2 hours each, total 50 hours of robot carnage!
Episodes have been expanded! Last year saw 16 2-hour episodes. First episode, as noted in the title thread, will air Friday, May 15th 8pm ET/PT on Discovery.
Same format as the last few years: Fight card with the mid-season Desperado tournament with the main tournament happening at the end of the season. Season will be taped from April 3rd to April 15th in Long Beach, CA. So what's going on this year? Here's a quick lowdown: This time, it's going up earlier to get the word out better. The last 2 years saw Battlebot threads go up the day before the event.
